Getting back onboard

Published - 9/09/2020

It’s been quite the few months for us all, but now you can start getting excited for a trip back onboard a National Express coach. From catching up with friends and family, to visiting places we once took for granted, we are back and ready to connect you to the things you’ve missed safely and comfortably.

We understand everyone might be feeling a little different about the world right now but we hope there’s something for everyone in our ideas below…

Get out and about again

We’re keen to take you back to some of the UK’s most scenic spots. Whether you’d like a long stroll on the beaches of Bournemouth or Newquay, or want to explore the countryside’s rolling hills or parklands, we’ll take you to 100s of destinations with ease.

Fancy a walk with a little more purpose? Since the pandemic, self-guided and socially distanced tours, treasure trails and scavenger hunts have become increasingly popular. Suitable for the whole family, you can solve puzzles and follow clues to make exploring somewhere new that little more adventurous!

Catch up with family and friends

With our favourite restaurants, cafes, bars and shops opening up again, it might be time for you to discover some of those places you always said you’d go to. Reconnect with friends and family, within the government's guidelines, over great food and drink. From upmarket hidden hideouts like Shoreditch’s Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town to quaint coffee in The Little Man Coffee Co. in Cardiff, there’s a lot to catch up on!

If you’ve grown tired of the same old thing, however, why not try an escape room for a twist on game night? Readily available across most towns and cities in the UK, escape rooms leave you locked in a themed room with only a string of clues and quick wit allowing for your freedom. Brighton’s Pier Pressure escape rooms are a great mix of fun puzzles, whacky storylines and enthusiastic staff, we can’t recommend a visit enough.

Visit the ones who matter the most

If you’re simply looking to board our coaches to visit someone special and aren’t ready to get out and about yet, there’s still a lot you can do. Remember all those new skills you tried during lockdown? It’s time to share them! From baking to knitting and masterful (or not-so-masterful) works of art, we all tried something to pass the time. Why not share your new talent with a friend in person?

On the other hand, you may just want to keep someone you’ve missed company, chatting in the garden at a distance or making a cup of tea in their kitchen again. Whatever the circumstances, you can book your coach tickets now with free amendments to your travel should anything change.

It's not too late for a UK break

Who says you can only go on holiday abroad? Make 2020 the year of the Great British staycation with Holidays by National Express. Our coach travel, hotel and attraction packages offer you top UK breaks, all with our lowest price guarantee. From long weekends in Liverpool to sightseeing in Oxford, let us find the perfect getaway for you.

How we're keeping you safe

With coaches going up and down the country daily, we know it’s vital that we keep you and our staff safe at all times. That’s why we’ve kept our coach seats socially distanced, enhanced our cleaning processes and asked all staff and customers to wear masks onboard our coaches and inside our coach stations.
