Getting around Coventry on the 9

The number 9 is one of Coventry’s most popular routes with great access to the city centre and train station. And while there are a lot of well-known features of this route, here are a few you might not know too much about…

1) Coventry’s first electric route

With our goal for all of our buses to be free of emissions by 2030 comes our first electric route in Coventry! When riding the 9 you can now look forward to more legroom, free WiFi, USB charging and more, all with the benefit of cleaner air and zero emissions.

2) The Burnt Post

Offering great food and drink, as well as a spacious garden area, The Burnt Post is a friendly and versatile spot for anything from post-work drinks to a Sunday roast with the family. You can visit their website for great deals too.

3) War Memorial Park

More than just a place to walk the dog or enjoy some fresh air, War Memorial Park offers sports facilities, such as football pitches and tennis courts, an outdoor fitness trail, regular events and more.

4) Stoke Bowling Club

Enjoy a quiet game of bowls with friends easily with a ride on the 9. Stoke Bowling Club features two greens on scenic grounds for a relaxing experience, as well as full-sized snooker tables for a little more competitive fun.

5) Pool Meadow Bus Station

Coventry’s main bus station gives you access to routes all over the midlands and beyond. Why not create your own adventure around Coventry or explore further afield on a National Express coach?

6) Lady Herbert Gardens

Steeped in local history, Lady Herbert’s Gardens have been a big part of life in Coventry since the 1930s. Explore these picturesque grounds and enjoy some simple family fun in the heart of the city.

Find big-name brands, as well as great food and drink, at one of Coventry’s top shopping areas. West Orchards is easily accessible from the 9’s central bus stops, with just a short walk into the complex.

9) Coventry Rail Station and Central 6 Retail Park

The 9 stops just down the road from Coventry Rail Station for convenient access to the UK’s train network. The station is also adjacent to Central 6 Retail Park, home to several great stores and eateries.
