Environmental policy

Our environmental policy

At National Express we believe that encouraging people to switch to public transport and ditch their cars is fundamental to our purpose.

This Policy Statement underpins our commitment to ensuring that we minimise the environmental impact of our operations by creating good management practice, whilst focusing on our product, property and people, to become an environmental leader in our sector.

This policy will form the framework for setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets:

We commit to:
● Working towards the decarbonisation of our fleet in partnership with the government, industry leaders, and our customers.

● Setting ambitious and meaningful targets, and measuring our progress towards environmental goals, aligning our purpose with this environmental policy.

● Ensuring that we comply with or where possible exceed the requirements of all legislation and contractual requirements which are relevant to our business.

● Developing robust control systems as part of day to day operations, in order to manage our
environmental impact, mitigate climate risk, and minimise the risk of pollution.

● Maintain our fleet to a high standard, continually moving towards the best possible technology.

● Monitor our energy usage and identify energy savings opportunities to promote sustainable resource usage, including sourcing electricity solely from renewable sources.

● Managing our waste in a responsible manner by promoting recycling and aiming towards zero to landfill to reduce impact upon the environment.

● Providing our people with the training, knowledge, and information required to fulfil our goals and prevent negative environmental impacts.

● Monitoring and reviewing the performance of our operations and using this information to drive continual improvement of our systems.

● Provide adequate resources in order to comply with the commitments made within this policy.
