The Ruskin Glass Centre

The Ruskin Glass Centre and Glasshouse Heritage Centre in Amblecote is home to glass crafts like glassblowing, glass art, stained glass, engraving and glass repair. Alongside this, you also have a great place to find handmade and crafted gifts including jewellery, textiles and prints, handmade soaps, cake makers and more!  Learn about the 400-year-old story of glassmaking at The Glasshouse Heritage Centre or visit The Glasshouse Arts Centre’s auditorium, studio theatre and meeting rooms where there are always plenty of events going on and groups meeting.

The Red House Glass Cone

The Red House Glass Cone was built at the end of the 18th century and used for the manufacture of glass until 1936. See glassblowing demonstrations or visit arts and crafts studios. Cross over the road to see the new White House Cone. A museum is currently being developed and will soon be presenting the design & innovations of the great Stourbridge factories and showing how they influenced the world.

Stourbridge Town Hall

Where to shop

Ryemarket Shopping Centre

The Ryemarket shopping centre is just a short walk away from Stourbridge bus station and nestled right in the middle of the high street. - there’s a Waitrose supermarket alongside a mix of handy high street brands and independent stores, plus a Costa Coffee. The Ryemarket also offers a programme of free family entertainment throughout the year.

Victoria Passage

Further along the high street, Victoria Passage is a cute pedestrian only shopping area featuring plenty of small, specialist and independent shops.

Crown Shopping Centre

Another great local spot is the Crown shopping centre. Featuring a huge two-storey Tesco for all your shopping essentials, the Crown centre also has a cafe, some smaller shops and is home to Stourbridge library and town hall. If you’re looking for a gift with a difference or something unique to decorate your home then Doolallys is a lovely little spot.

VGN Boulevard

Packed with self-proclaimed ‘vegan junk food’, VGN Boulevard lets you choose from amazing Beyond Meat burgers, chicken fillets, Hot ‘Dawgs’ and more. This place is perfect for those who want a cheat meal or fancy an indulgent foodie treat.

Green Duck Brewery

The Green Duck brewery tap room and bar lets you drink your beer whilst looking through the glass wall to see where it was brewed. Alongside drinks you can also check out their famous cobs & pork pies.

Ruby Cantonese

Ruby Cantonese in Amblecote is well known to the locals for it’s authentic Cantonese cuisine. Choose from a-la-carte or set dinner options if you just can’t decide what to try first.

Where to take the kids

Crystal Leisure Centre

This council-run pool is famed for its water slides and wave pools and it’s right opposite a bus stop on the ring road so you can’t miss it!

Mary Stevens Park

Just outside of the town centre, Mary Stevens park is a great little spot with lots to do to keep everyone busy.  There’s a little pond where you can feed the ducks, a toddlers and children’s playground with a splash play area plus free outdoor workout stations for you to burn some extra calories.

Where to go for sport & activities

Stourbridge Cricket Club

Based at the Memorial Ground, High Street, Amblecote, Stourbridge. The team currently plays in the Premier Division of the Worcestershire County League. The club also runs junior sections for all age groups including soft and hard ball.
