Where to visit first

Dudley Zoo and Castle

Dudley Zoo and Castle is home to over 1300 animals, and around 200 different species including Sumatran tigers, orangutans and penguins. Plus, there's an amazing Lemur Wood where you'll walk through the exhibit and get up close to the animals. The castle, meanwhile, is great fun to explore and home to historical re-enactments, ghost walks, and birds of prey talks.

Black Country Living Museum

The Black Country Living Museum is an award-winning open-air museum that immerses you into the heart of one of Britain's very first industrialised landscapes. With over forty carefully reconstructed shops, houses and industrial areas this family day out is both fun and educational. Enjoy everything from Peaky Blinders locations to incredible fish and chips and even a few local ales.

Saltwells Nature Reserve

Saltwells Nature Reserve is home to the biggest woodland in the borough, carpeted with bluebells and home to one of the largest sculpture parks in the West Midlands. This beautiful outdoor space is very proud to be at the heart of the Global Black Country GeoPark.

Dudley Library

Located in the heart of Dudley town centre, Dudley Library offers a wide range of books, services, workshops and more for the local community. Making it the perfect place to visit to learn about the town and to keep the kids entertained! Check out some of their events below:

Where to shop

Churchill Shopping Centre

Located in Dudley town centre, a short walk from the bus stop and just off the pedestrianised market place. Churchill Shopping Centre is home to shops such as Home Bargains, Iceland, Holland and Barrett, Bodycare and Virgin Media. Plus, there's also a Cozy Coffee Café and Costa Coffee if you need a sit down after a busy day!

The Old Glasshouse

The Old Glasshouse is not far from Dudley Town Hall, It’s a lovely contemporary pub that offers hearty meals and drinks in a nice comfortable space with large windows.

Where to take the kids

Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust

At Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust you can jump on board a boat and discover a magical underground world into caverns and tunnels that are hundreds of years old. The main portal building is also home to a number of galleries and exhibitions so you can learn more about the local area.

Tenpin Dudley

Based at Castle Gate Park, Tenpin is a fun place for all the family. As well as bowling for all ages there are also arcade machines, table tennis and pool tables and for younger visitors the Pingos soft play area - plenty of options to keep the children entertained!

Sycamore Adventure

Sycamore Adventure is packed with all-inclusive indoor and outdoor play facilities. The centre hosts a desert island complete with boat, hammocks and a palm tree, a carved wooden dragon where children can enjoy storytelling sessions, an indoor play barn, cantilever swing, a mini waterfall and go-karts.
